JointMetriX3D is an innovative system for measuring & assessing rock and terrain surfaces used in geotechnics, engineering geology, and surveying. It delivers outstanding detailed 3D images and provides 3D software for getting measurements.

The system has significant influence on safety when applied in tunnelling, mining, terrain assessments, or
various documentation purposes as very detailed spatial information is measurable without physical contact reducing the need for exposing oneself to regions hard or dangerous to access.

   
  Photogrammetric principles are behind JointMetriX3D combined with an outstanding imaging device capable to acquire its large panoramic images (100 Megapixel) in a range from 1 to 1.000 m and even beyond.
More than 1 million measuring points on the surface are attached with the images forming this unique 3D image quality. The uses of very large 3D images allow an easy reference to nature and to measure at a high degree of detail.
 


Due to the improved data quality, the resulting information allows
  • better stability assessments,
• more objective and reproducible documentation,
• as well as getting control and
• reducing costs for excavation and exploitation.

JointMetriX3D is not a 3D measurement device alone but also comprises an analysis software that allows interactive assessments of 3D images, manages the measurements, and handles the large amount of data behind each 3D image.

The software allows to measure • positions (x,y,z co-ordinates),
• distances (metres),
• areas (square-metres),
• spatial orientations (dip and dip direction).
 

It offers specialised tools for geological/geotechnical analyses and includes exports into CAD or standard spreadsheet applications (MS Excel). Repeated application of the system allows the determination of the excavated volume.
