JointMetriX3D is a computer
vision system based on digital panoramic images. It is
designed to overcome
current problems in geological field work, such as needed
access for measurements, work in hazardous
regions or heights, and pressure of time to collect geotechnical
data.
High resolution images enable spatial inspection and measurement
of geometric entities of a rock mass, like
lengths, areas, and discontinuity orientations. Analyses
currently not available on site, such as determining the
roughness of joints or surfaces are possible.
The high quality image data set represents a complete
documentation of the encountered rock mass.
JointMetriX3D is a valuable for the current field work
and can tremendously improve the geotechnical
assessment of the rock mass. |
